The Building of a Tower

      I started building a wizards tower for a game I was running for some friends, now I have decided to keep in i the game all the time.  The Tower of An-rok.  It has 12 levels and and a door on the second floor leading to 12 more levels on an other plane. 
      The Wizard An-rok has hired the hero's to clear his tower of the monster that have over run it.  He was working on these monsters trying to create new monsters and the such.  He is paying the party 2000 g.p per person,
      The gates to the tower are broken and rusted, the path to the the front doors is over grown with grass to the point of six feet high. There are monsters living in the over grown grass. The doors are made of Cherry Wood.  While that is it for now.  I will post what happen on the first floor of An-roks tower soon.

A New Day

      While the time as come to put the Neverwinter game on hold.  There are only two players in the game and it is starting to burn me out.  I will still be doing this blog, for the work on my Neverwinter game that I am building.
      This coming Saturday Will be a day of working on the game so there will be a post then.  The plan is that I will be working on finishing one area in the Chasm.
      It's a short post but there you go, a little something for the Neverwinter gamer in you.

A New Neverwinter Part 2; Some Real Bad Dudes.

The Cast

The Story
      While be for we start I just want to say that the player playing the Gnome told me that this Gnome is 300 pounds.  This is not really how I saw the Gnome but to each his own.  Casey once play a Gnome Barbarian that it was more like this.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KqjOGdOMtA&list=PLFFFEAC819223C542.
      Now lets get to the good stuff.  Last time a giant snake attacked Basil in the bar he was at.  This story is about what happens next.  We start with the bar keep wanting to know what the group is going to do about the whole in the floor.  After telling the bar keep that it was not their problem, Mister Jenkins dropped a flaming beer done the whole and then jumped down, Everyone else followed.   The whole lead to the sewers of Neverwinter,  the group started exploring with the gnome in the front.
      Shortly after entering the sewers, the group encountered some Rat People.  even thought the bard would take to them in common, they would only answer in there speech.  He was able to understand them, but no one else could.   They asked what he was doing in the sewers with the  group he was traveling with.  He told them that they wore looking for some snakes because one had attacked Basil.
      The gnome wanted to attack these rat people, but Morgan was able to get him; to understand that they did not need to attack every person they meet.  so after make small talk the group went there way.  It was not long before these rats would do what they do best, and try to steal from the group.  The target was the fighter.  The rats did not do a good job of hiding and the fighter was able to caught on to what was happening.  During the battle the gnome was killed once but the bard healed him, and then the gnome went down again.  Just as things were starting to look bad for this group, Morgan tried to speak with them in rat and   try and get them to stop fighting.  Morgan was able to trade a sun rod for there safety.
      The group was really beat up, Basil wanted to go back to the bar and rest for the night.  He was also not really sure why the group and gone down the whole.  When they got back to the whole, it had be covered up and the rope was dropped.  The group was not happy with this, but Basil was the one that came up with the idea to get the rats to help them out.  The plan was to get the rats to break through the whole and make chaos and then  the group would fake killing the rats.  While only part of the plan went the way it should have.  The rats got there the whole so the others could follow, but the group was not able to knock out the rats; before they killed everyone in the bar.  The Rats told Morgan that because they helped the rats take over the bar, they could spend the night but then the other members of the group would have to leave.  The group was ok with this because Basil  had come up with a plan to blow up the bar.  And so they did killing all the rats that were in the bar.
      While because the rats had killed the man that hired the group there was no way for the group to get paid so it was off to find the job board.  While for some of them it was time to got find work, for the gnome it was time to go find a bar and get drunk.  The gnome told the others that it was there job to find work for them all so he left them.  Before they went to the job board, Basil and Morgan decided that they were going to find a corner that they could play some music and get some money that way.  They were able to make about 50 gold pieces.  At the job board, they found three jobs that they could look in to.  1. There was a lady looking for someone to free her lover who was on his airship trapped in a bottle.  2.  A wizard was looking for some people to do some research and find some items.  The last was a wizard who was working on some projects and his tower was taken over by the monsters in his lab.  This is the job the group took.  He was paying 2000 g,p per person, but the group told the gnome that it was only 1000, because he left them.
      When the group got to the tower, that grass was so tall that they could not see the door.  they found an orphan boy and paid him 1 g.p to go in and see what he could find.  The orphan boy was not gone long before the group could hear him being eaten by something.  When the group went in they found a Carrion Crawler.  They killed it fast and went to the front door.

      While I lost the page with my stuff on it so I will have to introduce the group next time.  but there is a fighter, the invoker, the bard, a Gnome barbarian, and a rabbit.
   The group had to fight a giant snake that was going to kill the rabbit.

A New Neverwinter

     Due to trying to start a company, I have had to stop running my Saturday Neverwinter game.  But now I have good news.  I will be running a Neverwinter game on Friday.  It is a podcast night, but I am not sure I am going to make a podcast of Neverwinter that would be three hours of podcasting.
      I am thinking that I am going to focus on guilds and cults in this game.  There is some good stuff with the Cult of the Dragon, and the Dread Rats.  If I did this there would a lot of adventuring in the sewers and tunnels of Neverwinter.  This might be fun one of the players is thinking about playing a druid.
      I think this is about it for Neverwinter this week.

Attack on the Ice King part I

      Our story begins with Rolen and Captain Mel going through houses getting what they can, while the others were out with the townsfolk.  when some undead monsters came on a sky ship to attack the city.
      When the undead army gets to the ground they all go after Soul Reaper.  Soul Reaper was able to hold is own for a time, but then started taking large amounts of damage. (for some reason even though it is weak, I don't know why Soul Reaper did not use turn undead.)  Aramil had to save Soul Reaper with the Sphere of Fire and the Stinking Cloud.
      Things are about to get worse for the Hero's when out of the clouds comes one of two of the White Dragons.  The second would  be joining in 14 rounds if the fight goes that far.  Rolen and Soul Reaper were the only ones that heard it coming.  When the dragon landed he attacked Aramil and could not hit him because of Aramil's fire shield.  Gid who was on the Argo III getting a new arm came out to help fight the dragon.  Gid felt that there was not a whole lot he could do, so he stayed on the ship and shoot the sleep cannon and sent his griffen to fight the Dragon.  Mel shoot the dragon with a power that knocked him prone for the rest of the fight, and after the fourth time Gid was able to get the dragon to fall asleep.  (I need to look through the rules better, This is the second big monster that has fallen asleep.)
      Once the Dragon was done, the players blow through the undead.  at the end of the fight Aramil went through the dragon for it's insides to get spell components.  Then he tried to skin it and see if they could get some armor.
      While this was going on, the sky ship ask for the Ice rod, no one had it but Gid got on the bout so he could get his own air ship, but when he got on board it took off, and there was no way to get off.  What will happen next time in part II of Attack on the Ice King?

Wizards Red, and Dragons White

      Now that we have the full cast of hero's here you go.\
      Captain Mal the Pirate: played by Casey
      Gid the Sword Mage: played by Nick
      Aramil son of Arcans son of Son The Mage: played by Mckell
      Soul Reaper the Cleric: played by Matthew
      Rolen the Druid: played by Spencer

      This story starts with our hero's in two groups, one is Gid waiting for a mage to come home, so he can learn about changing his body to be more magical.  The second group is everybody else getting ready to make a move on a house of Red Wizards. 
      We will start with Gid siting on the door step of this wizard, when he sees someone coming.  This person has been beat up really bad, as this person gets closer.  Gid can see that it is the wizard he is waiting for.  Not only is this man looking really bad, he is carrying a lot of papers and rolls and things like that.  When Gid asks the mage what happen, "I was attacked by the Red Wizards for working with you.  It would seem that they don't like you at all."  Gid tells the wizard that it is not him that the him that the Red Wizards are after the Mage that he is traveling with.  "While it really don't matter if it is you or not, I took a good beating for you, so come in and we will see what we can do." 
      Once in side the mage rolls out some papers and opens his not book on a table, and explains to Gid what they are looking at.  (this glove looks like a part from the Iron Man suit.)  "This is the Seeker, It is a item of power that will help you fight off the undead.  After you have found it, it  will take 5 days and 500 g.p. to attach it to your arm." "according to my research I think it is some where in the graveyard."  Now there is nothing that can stop Gid from going to the Graveyard. 

      Now lets move to the other group.  Last time Rolen had spotted some Red Wizards heading into a building, the group is trying to decided what they are going to do, When suddenly Gid fly's on to the Air Ship the Argo III.  Explaining to the rest of the group that he needs to go to the Graveyard right now.   Aramil sets forward and asks "what is at the graveyard the is so important that it can't wait until we are done hear."  Gid explains about the Seeker and that he is going to get it and have it attached to his arm, and that it is some where in the graveyard. 
      The party now has a choose to make are they going to stick to the plan and go after the Red Wizards, or are they going to help Gid and go to the graveyard?  Gid really wants to go to the graveyard, but Aramil points out that they all agreed to take care of the Red Wizards and that until they do this the Wizards will keep attacking the group.  So they decided to enter the  building.
      While deciding what they are going to do, Aramil notices that something is not right with the building they are looking at.  After some arcane checks he learns that the top part of the build is invisible. So what was up there and how does the group find out?  Rolen decided that he was going to turn in to a spider and try to scout out the place, it was a good thing that the place was not full of Red Wizards, be the spider is a medium sized spider.  Rolen was able to find some open windows that they could enter the building from.  So back on the Argo III, they hero's try to come up with a plain to sneak in to the house of the Red Wizards. 
      Here is the plain that the Hero's of Neverwinter came up with.  Rolen decided that he would go in one window on the six floor, Aramil and Gid would go in other window on the six floor, and Mal would turn in to a rat and go in the front door with Soul Reaper.  Soul Reaper but on one of the red robes that they had found earlier.  When Rolen climb in his window the room was empty and there was a door, the window that Gid and Aramil went to a empty room as while with a door.  When both of these groups opened their doors there they were standing in front of each other. 
      When Soul Reaper entered the front door there was a receptionist at a desk, as Soul Reaper tried to go through one of the doors, the receptionist said, "don't forget to sign the book."  After waiting about five minutes he decided he was going to sign it Bob, making his bluff check he was now Bob.  Making is way through the door he saw six Red Wizard walking right towards him.  Instead for talking with them he turned and went back out the door, in to the main office and in to the dinning hall.  It was not long before those six wizards were in the dinning hall, joining Bob of dinner. 
      Back on the sixth floor Rolen decided to turn back to his human form and join the other two as they search the floor.  In one of the rooms they find a lady that is tied up and passed out.  Gid put his hand over her mouth and woke her up giving her the sign that they were going to help her get out of the house.  She accepted there offer for help and went with them as they searched the rest of the level.  at the end of hall was a set of stairs going up.  There was really nothing on this floor, but in one of the rooms, Aramil found a secret stair case that went up.  At the top of the stair case was some type of telescope, the group found that when they looked through it looking for a person, they were able to see where that person was.  Aramil used his magic learning to take it a part and draw how to rebuild it, so they could put it on the Argo III.
      At the dinner Soul Reaper was not doing a great job of trying to fit in.  Finally just as dinner was winding down he started talking to the group about what they were going to do about the Air Ship that was now in Neverwinter.  Bob pointed out that they could shot it down, and got bite by Mal the rat.  After dinner the group of wizards went to the war room to discuss their plain of attacking the air ship and Aramil.  In the war room was a table, and on this table was a map of Neverwinter Bob found this map kind of cool because the head mage would wave his hand over it and say show me Aramil, but it only took to times for the head to know something was not right.  He sent two mages plus Bob to go up to the telescope to see what was going on.  Of course it did not take long for them to see that it was not working because some one had taken it, so when they got back the head wizard was not happy at all and they all left the house to take care of some things.  Bob thought it would be a good idea to take the map so he did.
      When the Hero's came out of the house there was one thing that they noticed right away.  it was starting to snow.  Now of course this is a good sign that something is wrong because it doesn't snow in Neverwinter,  While it was time to go to the graveyard so off they went.  Standing outside the gate to the graveyard was to guards that tried to warn the group to not go in, for the dead are knew to walk on their own.  Gid was not going to listen to any one and proceeded to go in.  The snow  has really started to pile up, and the few Zombie's that were out and about were not able to attack the party.  Trying to hurry and find the seeker, the group ask Aramil to cast hand of fate to try and find where it is.  The answer is in the catacomb so on the group goes.  Gid uses his shape changing power to try and look like he is undead.  When the group opens the door to the catacomb they are rushed by four zombies. 
      After the battle with the zombies the party once again went it's own way.  Gid and Rolen went of down the main hall, and when they did not find anything went down one of the side paths. in one room they found some stairs going down.  At the bottom of the stairs was a Red Wizard and two zombies.  Gid told the wizard that he was looking for the seeker, the wizard told Gid that they had it and that he was not going to get it with out paying a price.  Gid was not very good at this game and when the wizard said he wanted Gid'a boot's and 1000 g.p Gid said that he would go and get his friend so help get the Seeker, and the wizard said fine I will get my friend too.
      Aramil got back on the air ship because the snow was getting really bad, and Soul Reaper stayed at the front door to protect the others.  Mal went down a different path and came to a room with a fire pit and a dead body just laying on the floor.  When he moved the body he found a hidden door.  In the hidden door was a case, in the case was the seeker.  Mal made haste to find the others and get to the air ship.
      While on the air ship Aramil thought he was something really big flying in the clouds, but he was not able to see any thing because of how bad the snow was.
      When everyone was on the ship the made there way to the mages house so Gid can get the Seeker put on his arm.  When they got to his house, there was a wall of fire in front of the door.  The group figured that it was to keep the snow from piling up, so they went to the door, and when they got to the wall a path opened for them to go through.  While Gid was talking with the wizard about getting the  Seeker put on the rest of the group went back to the air ship.
      This time those that were on the air ship, were able to see what was in the clouds, and it was two white dragons.  These dragons were coming right for the Argo III.  Aramil was able to talk to them and get them to not attack, in the talks they gave the dragons some fresh meat and the jeweled carpet, to leave the party alone.  The dragons agree to not attack the party but the city was a different story.
      Now that the Seeker had been take care of, it was time to take care of why it was snowing in Neverwinter, for this I am using the adventure that came with the Monster Vulat  but making some changes like two White Dragons.

Day 11, The Redness

      I lost my paper with everyone's names on it so I will have to get you the names of the mage, the druid and the cleric next time. 
      This day started out with the players making there way back to see Lord Nevermember, so they could get the money for the job they can just finished.  The Killing of the Kraken was not an easy task, but only worth 200 G.P. each.  When the players got back to the castle the Lord had made a feast for the Hero's.  All the players were very afraid to eat the food for fear that they would die.
      Once Lord Nevermember showed up to the feast, it did not take long for the mage to call due the rest of what the Lord owed him.  Information on what might have happened to his Race.  For he is on a personal quest to find out happened and fix it.  So he was sent to the Library where there the history books would hopefully shard some life on the subject.  Here is what he learned,  The Red Wizards and the Cult of the Dragon are trying to bring an dead dragon back to life,  The Dread Ring might have had something to due with the death of this race.
      So now the party now has a problem, what are we going to do?  They decided that their choices were 1. go back to the chasm and find the cure for the Creeping Madness 2. They could hunt down the Red Wizards 3. Find something else to do.  They decided that they were going after the Red Wizards.  But where would they start?
      They would not have to try hard to find the Red Wizards, because when the group came out of the castle, some wizards were waiting for them.  The mage liked using and moving his stinking could and flaming Sphere.  The sword mage once again took to the air to shot people so they could fall to their deaths.  The druid would try to go one on one with a Human Dualist and come out on the short end of the stick.  And the Pirate was not able to do much.
     After the fight everyone got on to the Air Ship owned by the pirate for the night.  Day 12 starts with the Sword Mage going to meet a wizard that is helping him to get some powers.  Gid got to the wizards house he was not home, but there was a box on the front step with a note for Gid to drink the potion that was inside.  Gid passed out for 20 min and when he woke up he could see everyone's heat and could see up  to 120 ft. 
      Back on the Air Ship the Cleric decided he was going to attack the Druid.  shortly after this fight started the Pirate woke up and kicked them both off the ship, just as the got back on the group a small group of Red Wizards attack them and Gid.  Gid was tired of fight these guys so he just fly off, but with the help of Mal the Cleric and Druid was able to kill there group of wizards.
      While waiting for Gid to return the rest of the group just hangs out, and the Druid spots a group of guys in red robes heading in to a building.  What is going to happen next in Neverwinter?

      This week I have things going on, so there is no game.  But I will be working on Neverwinter both for my players and for the give away that I will be adding to my Kickstarter.
      Things that I need to look into are Nevergrave, Helm's Hold, and the Neverwinter forest.  The reasons are because the Sword Mage might go and try to kill the barbarin, the group might start hunting down the Red Wizards. 
      The game I am writing for the Kickstarter is the same but I am taking out the Civil War part, that the players did.  So there might not  be a Kraken.  The other big difference is that with my group I used the Neverwinter Encouters to start the game.

      Due to a family Birthday party, this week there is no game.  So I spend the next two weeks preping for a good game.
      There is some talk that the hero's are going to kill every Red Wizard there is in the world.  We will see how that turns out.  I don't see anything good coming out of this for the hero's but you never what will happen.
      The Sword Mage is thinking about going to Helm's Hold to kill the barbarin that was sent there for recover, an other adventure that might not go as plained.

Day: I don't even know what day it is.



Even thought this group has been playing Neverwinter for just under a year.  If I was to put a starting day on it I would have to guess it is about day 10.

On this day, the adventures are on their way to the docks, to try and end a civil war.  But first the Sword Mage has to find out about getting his new magical arm upgraded.  The mage will be ready to start the first upgrade night time, making it so the sword will come out of the Sword Mages hand.

The adventures were told by Lord Neverember, to go to the docks and meet with the leaders of the rebal forces.  While on the way to the docks, the group ran in to some Red Wizards who were only to happy to try and kill the mage of the group, Who early made a bad deal with the Red Wizards.  Also at the same time six zombies were spoting heading towards the City Center right where the adventures were fighting the Red Wizards.


After the fight with the wizards, and zombies the adventures were checking on the towns' people when from the docks came a giant explotion as the kraken attack killing even those that freed it.  "The battle was epic, something for the whole family to enjoy."  The pirate used his cursed bullete, and found that it might be more of a blessing because even though it does less damage; he doesn't need to spend on round reloading. 
The sword mage used one attack that took the kraken 110 feet into the air and droped him, the problem was that was right in to the water, even though the kraken took 68 points of damage, the rest of the group got slamed  by a tidelwave for 47 points of damage.
In the end the adventures won hte battle but the cleric is not looking so good.
