Krampus Secret Book Shoppe: A Holiday Author Event for Those Who Like Their Stories a Little Darker
Forget the mall. Forget the predictable holiday shopping. Krampus has his own book shoppe—and he's bringing some seriously twisted stories with him.
On Friday, December 4, 2026, the Krampus Secret Book Shoppe comes to Beer on the Wall in Park Ridge, Illinois, bringing together authors, books, local vendors, drinks, holiday shopping, and a healthy dose of Krampus-style mischief.
If your holiday shopping list includes readers, horror fans, book collectors, or anyone who prefers their stories a little darker, this is one Park Ridge event you won't want to miss.
Skip the Mall and Shop Somewhere Darker
Holiday shopping doesn't have to mean battling crowds and searching endlessly for another generic gift.
The Krampus Secret Book Shoppe offers something different: books, authors, local vendors, unique gifts, and an evening built around people who genuinely love stories.
Come looking for your next favorite read. Stay to meet the authors. Browse the vendor tables. Find something unexpected for someone on your holiday list—and maybe pick up a little something for yourself.
After all, Krampus probably approves of self-indulgent reading.
Meet Authors Across Nine Genres
The Secret Book Shoppe brings together authors from a wide range of genres, making this a great opportunity to discover new writers and explore stories you may not find at your typical bookstore.
Meet authors working in:
Horror
Paranormal
Sci-Fi
Thriller
Fantasy
Fiction
Romance
Mystery
True Crime
Whether you're searching for something terrifying, mysterious, romantic, otherworldly, or completely unexpected, there's a good chance you'll find a story worth taking home.
And there's nothing quite like meeting the person behind the book.
Find Unique Gifts from Local Vendors
The books are only part of the fun.
Local vendors will also be on hand offering unique gifts, bookish merchandise, handmade goods, and unexpected treasures.
That makes the Krampus Secret Book Shoppe a perfect stop for holiday shoppers who want to support independent creators while finding gifts that feel personal rather than mass-produced.
Looking for something strange? Something cool? Something your favorite reader definitely doesn't already have?
Krampus has you covered.
A Holiday Event for Readers & Horror Fans
There's a particular kind of holiday magic that comes from discovering a great book—and the Krampus Secret Book Shoppe puts a darker spin on that experience.
Bring your friends and spend the evening meeting authors, browsing books, supporting local vendors, enjoying a drink, and discovering something new at Beer on the Wall.
It's an alternative holiday shopping experience for Park Ridge readers, Chicago-area horror fans, book lovers, and anyone who thinks the holiday season could use a little more darkness.
