Cons and Neverwinter

      This week I was going to play some DCC, but the guy that was going to DM had to work.  So I spent the weekend on my Neverwinter game.  I am going to write about that on the other blog.
      There is going to be an online gaming con in Nov called Aethercon, I have signed up to play there games at this con.  I am going to be playing D&D Next, some DCC, and some Castles and Crusades.  The D&D game is in the Living Realms so I am going to use my assassin.  It is going to be fun.
      In January there are going to be two cons, one is Tabletop Con in Salt Lake City, the second is going to be BryceCon I hope they are not on the same day or I can only do one, and that will most likely be the one in Salt Lake.

Stuff

      While there was no gaming this week.  The Saturday morning game might be dying, that would not be good.  My knight wants to be the hero of the day.  The Neverwinter game was put on hold this week because my daughter had a birthday party.
      Today I got some more of my Magic decks on ebay, you can find those under Kevinsmajestictheswamppit, I am hoping to get the rest up this week, and then I will get all my singles up and sold.
      I will be making a new You Tube video tonight when I am done with this.  I have three new comics and some mini's from Comic Con.  While I think that is it for now so until next time Keep Gaming.

The Con and some other stuff

      While it is that time of the year again.  The Salt Lake Comic Con, was back in town or what ever you want to call it.  So lets get in to all the good stuff.  There were four things on my to do list.  See Leanna Vamp again, get Tracy Hickman and Marget Wells to sign my book and adventure, make a new D&D Next character, and play some D&D Next.
      Thursday:  knowing that I was taking my kids with me on Friday and not know what I was going to do on Saturday, this was going to be the day I had to play me some D&D.  The plan was to wear my vampire costume.
      It would turn out that the best part of the day was having to race the train from one station get my gear and ticket, and get to the next station before the train got there.  I did get tot he station just as the train got there.  I for got my money and had to take my whole costume bag.  My cousin was going to give five dollars to play D&D, the problem was that the lines in to the con were so long that I spent 3 hours in line just to get in.
      So I was going to make my character and paint a mini, and get my stuff signed.  My cousin was going to spend the night in SLC so he took some bags, and I put my stuff in one of his bags, and before I remembered he was gone, now I am 0 and 2.  From where I was the game room was the closet thing to me, so I was able to make my character.  I now have a level one Assassin.  by the time this was done it was time to find the group I was with so I could get home.
      Friday:  This day the plan was that my family would do an Alice in wonderland group.  The group was good, now we just needed to get to the con so, we could paint our mini's and play some games.  We got our painting done, my son painted a gunsligger, my daughter painted a flesh golem and I painted a mini to be my assassin.  After that we played some Spot it, that was a fun game we might have to get it come Christmas time.  I was able to get Tracy Hickman to sign my DragonLace adventure, so it was a good day.
      I did not go on Saturday because I told my wife that I would help her, so she could do something.
Now I have to get a You Tube video done, and then do some writing for Neverwinter and then get ready for a DCC game that I am going to do on Saturday.  So until Next time Keep Gaming.

This week in gaming the real #18

      It was kind of a good thing that one of my players did not show up.  With work and school work, I have not been able to write for any of my games  Maybe this week I will be getting a new player, and there are ads for other people looking for a group, so we will see where that leads.
      The play by post 1st edition game that I was running, is no longer something I am doing.  Everyone just got really busy and on of the players doesn't even check his emails that much.  Now I am going to have to do something else if I am going to keep up the Wonderland blog.
      So this week in the Neverwinter game I only had one person.  My plan was that I was going to let him do what ever he wanted to, he wanted to stick with his mission of finding out what the Many-Arrow orc clan was invading the city.  So the adventure started with him trying to get himself out of jail.  He was able to buy his way out, but it cost him a good share of his good, because he felt that his freedom was worth a 100 g.p.
      He found some work with the Red Wizards, and did not think to much about it, even when one of them got mad that he was asking about getting a magical weapon.  In the end he would die a sad and lonely live by wondering in to the chasm, and fighting when he should have run away.
     I have only seen a little bit of the new 5th edition book, but I am going to be an Assassin at TableTop Con coming at the start of next year.  I am waiting to get my books when I can buy a box set at the end of the year.  I am thinking about going to the weekly living realms game, but we will see what happens.
     When I was looking at the rules for the living realms, in one of the groups you can be part of, you get a coin so I could build my assassin to be like Two Face and if you get heads you live tails you die.
      While I have to go make a video for my Youtube channel Mrdragonfi, and then I will be working on writing one of my books, so until next time Keep Gaming.

This week in Gaming #18: It's coming and Hey I am a SPY

      I missed a week, so this one might be extra long or it might be just as short as the others, we will see what happens as we go.  I have been doing this blog for a while in hopes that I could make money on ads, but that is not working very while so I am starting to think I am going to start adding photo's of everything.
      So we are playing a new Castles and Crusades game, this time we are playing The Destiny of Kings, it is a cool adventure, there is a crazy fighter that kills anyone that looks at him wrong, a female fighter who became lawful good after drinking some water, a Thief who is now a mage because the thief took an trapped arrow to the chest, and me the cleric/knight. 
      The story for the adventure is that the king has been killed, and the prince is missing and we need to find him.  When we road in to the dukes little village, Sir Baldwin the XVI the cleric/knight had to pay 100 gp for a neck-less due to his bad diplomacy skills.  Then they found out that some people came in on their way to the holy place.  So the group decided to head that way in the morning.  So after letting a bad guy go and drinking some holy water, that leads us to what happen at the little fort.  It all started with the thief sneaking in and waiting to let us in if we could not do it ourselves.  We used some cloaks that we took form some of the guards and they let us in to the keep, but than they know we were fakes and they attacked us.
      After we cleared the keep we found a locked door in one of the towers.  The thief checked for a trap and did not find it, but then opened the door and got hit with a cross bow bolt.  We found the wizard and headed north to find the prince.  There was a black knight blocking the road and only winning the joust is the only way to cross.  Sir Baldwin XVI, got one good hit in and then things went south for him, it was a good thing that one of the fighters had a potion of healing.
      The other day I got a message that the meetup group I am part of, is starting to plan for Tabletop Con in January, I am excited about that, I am hoping to have a few things done for that, I would like to try and make shirts for them with Tabletop con on the front and The Swamp on the back, I might do one section of Escape form Cyclops Island and it would be nice if I could give some away as prizes.  I am going to either run a Castles and Crusades version of B1 or the keep part of B2, I might run them and 1e D&D.
      So the last point of the night.  I only had one person show up to my Friday night Neverwinter game, but I wanted to play anyway and now the fighter is in jail, because even though his job was not being a spy, he did not do a very bad job of hiding that fact he was trying to be a spy, so until next time Keep Gaming  

It's Magic and More

      Today my wife and I had my other brother and his family over to join us for dinner, and swimming.  That means that at some point there is going to be some Magic the Gathering.  We played three games I end the night at 1-2.
      Game 1:  I was going to play my Vampire deck, but then I decided that I was going to us my Minotaur deck.  This game was kind of slow, because his son was playing and was more focused on what the other kids were doing.  I lost this game because I could not block a 20/20 creature that had trample on it.
      Game 2:  In this game I played my Level-up deck, and Mike played his Living Land deck.  I could not do a lot in this game due to not getting more then three land, I play the Kami of the the Crescent Moon in the hope that if I draw two cards one of them would be a land. 
      Game 3: This is the game I won, I played my Curse deck and he played Morradin, I only won this game because I got three of the four fog banks out really fast.  I was able to get The Curse of Thirst on him, so he lost life every turn and then I was finally about to block with my witch and get the Curse of Misfortune on and then it was game over.  That was all the Magic so now let's get in to some other stuff.
      I have decided that I am going to write a review for every adventure I run in my play by post game.  I have not decided if I am going to do it on this blog or on the Wonderland blog, but I think that will be fun.  I am starting with be one so I will have that up sometime before the end of the week.  So until next time Keep Gaming.

Back to the Basic

      Between school and work and whatever else, I really want to get back to posting everyday, that is what this blog is about.  I have a paper I need to get done to night and then I still have to get my youtube video up.  I am working on painting my new mini for the game coming up on Saturday, so I can get that on the video as while.
      Something this week I should be getting two D&D adventures in the mail, Dungeonland  and the Magic Mirror.  I am going to be using this in my play by post game.  I am basing the game off the Grim Fairy Tales comic books, so two adventures about Wonderland will be great.  I have a blog for that as while called Wonderlandcastles.blogspot.com
      I am still looking to find someone to do the art work fro Escape from Cyclops Island, one of my co-workers has given me a number for someone to do that for me, I just need to get the money I need to pay him.  I don't want to promise something and then not be able to pay.
      I also need to get more work done on Neverwinter and my 1st edition game, I am hoping that this week end we will get back to playing and doing the podcast.  so until next time Keep Gaming.

This week in Gaming 16

      While the week has been ok I guess.  Yesterday I did some gaming, my group played a Castle and Crusades game, it was a Viking game, and you can read more about it on the Northern Clan blog.
      Last night I was able to add stuff to three rooms in the House of Knowledge, I will do some more tonight, after I do a Youtube video.  I am working on painting one more mini for this weeks C&C game, I am going to try and be a muti-class Cleric/Knight,   The paint colors I am thinking are yellow, red and blue, but we will see what happes.
      I would also like to look at the basic D&D pdf, so I just get off this and go do all those things.  So until next time Keep Gaming.

A Day off + shcool work / by gaming stuff= no day off

      After I am done doing home work here after I write this post, I will be working on my gaming stuff.  The plan is to make a youtube video for the Could Giant I got painted the other day, Then it will be on to working on the Neverwinter game.
      It has been a while scene I have worked on Neverwinter, I will still be working on the House of Knowledge, there is still much to be done in the house.  I have also been readying the Reign of Winter adventure path for some idea's when I get to winger.  I should be looking at spring, that is where they are now.  I am thinking that when they are done with the House of Knowledge I will have the city get attacked by a green dragon and that is how the player will find out they need to go to Pirate Island.
      I have downloaded the PDF of D&D basic, I have not looked at it, but I should do that then I can right a blog on it for you all to read.  I am thinking I am also going to do a podcast and then I will put it up on the website.  While again it is short so until next time Keep Gaming.

It's been a long time

     It's been a while but between moving and trying to get a masters degree, it is some times hard to post, but I am here now so Let's get it on.
     I will start with Free RPG day, I love this day, it is a day to do something kind of different then the every week thing that I do.  This year I decided that I was only going to be a player so myself a friend from work and one other guy that has joined our normal group all sat down to play some DCC.  I had a really good time playing DCC, this time I played a cleric a halfling and two worriers the goal was to get a box from a mage, the catch was that in order to keep the monster in the box you had to feed it lawful blood.
     There was not a big turn out this year, there was only one other group, and they were playing Pathfinder I don't know if it was due to the group, or the DM but they did not seem to any fun the only time we heard anything from them was when the DM dropped a chair on his foot.
     I need to get the podcast back up, I am hoping to figure out who is going to be joining me and fix it according to that.  I am going to get more Youtube stuff up, Casey and I are going to start playing Boarderland I and then we will move on too 2.  The ebay store is going good, I will hopefully get some more stuff up tomorrow.  I think that is it for now so until  next time Keep Gaming.

This week in gaming #14

      While this week I did not do a whole lot.  I was hoping to start a new thing for my Youtube channel but I had a lot of homework.  I was hoping to take my kids to a cosplay bbq, but lack of money said do your own bbq at home so that is what we did. 
      I did however start a play by post game.  This game is a first edition game, it is taking place in Wonderland I wanted to keep going from what I was doing in my C&C game.  I did change it so the players are now on the side of the Queen of spades.  They are going to be doing B1.  I have bought two adventures for the game they are both based on wonderland.  I think it is going to be alot of fun.
      I have got more stuff up on the ebay store, it is all costume stuff but there are magic cards up.  I will have some more magic cards and some mini's up soon. It is Kevinsmajestictheswamppit.  I think that is it so until next time Keep Gaming.

Some where between 13 and 20

      As I sit here watching the weekender by Beast of War, I think to myself I need to get a blog up.  So here it comes.
      Let's start with the coming of Escape from Cyclops Island.  My goal was to have it out at the end of this month while it is only 6 days away form the end of the month.  I have been trying to get an artist and not having any luck with that.  I am hoping that tonight I can work with my wife, so tomorrow I can scan everything in to the computer and sent out.  If not then I might not meet my goal. 
      Because of the American Holiday tomorrow if I don't go to play Magic the Gathering, I will be up late tonight working on the Neverwinter game.  I need to add all the detail to the House of Knowledge, that is going to take some time but it is better to start now so the next time we play I will be ready.  We have taken some time of because I want to test play Escape from Cyclops Island.
      We were going to do a test play last night but John got sick and then every thing fell apart.  I don't know if we are going to get an other test play done.  I think it is good to go, From the last test play I think I need to fix the hit points of the wolfs or the number of them.  I have just decided that I might try to get a test play in on Monday.

This Week in Gaming 13

      There has not been a whole lot of gaming stuff this week, because I have started school again.  So here is was I did do.  On Saturday I did the podcast, the Magic was good and we started test playing Escape from Cyclops Island.
      The Players did not get to far before they died at the mouths of wolfs.  The healer forgot he could heal and they missed some armor and weapons in the cave.  I am thinking about changing the hit dice of the wolfs or the number of them. 
      I was able to get all six books in the Reign of Winter from a friend so when I get back to working on Neverwinter I have those now when the players get to the winter part of the four seasons.  It looks like it is going to be a ton of fun.  So it is short but there you have it, until next time Keep Gaming

This week in Gaming #12

      This last was an ok week. I was able to work on Neverwinter for two days, and that was about it.  So this week I need to get on it and get it done. I am a week behind on one of the books and I need to fix that, I have been working a little at it, before I go in to work everyday.
      Monday:  This week I took Monday off, because I am going back to get my Master's degree, so I will be working on that most of the day, but My plan for the book is to get chapter one done.  I don't know if I am thinking to much to do a chapter a week, but we will see what happens.
      Tuesday:  I will be working on my game story book, this part will be easy I just need to copy what is on my Northern Clan blog.  So I should get it all done this week.  Then I will be done with my stories from the old school gaming section.
      Wednesday & Thursday:  I was thinking that I would get back to building my card game, but after looking at things, I need to be working on this that I can get out faster, so right now I will be doubling up on Neverwinter.  I will be working on the House of Knowledge.
      Friday:  I am looking forward to getting back to working on the Final Dream.  I have to finish somethings  on the Assassin and then I can move on to the next section. 
      Saturday:  I know that Sunday is Mothers day, but I am going to need the most out of the boys this week, so we can get the test play of Escape from Cyclops Island done.  I also get some art work done.  While there you have it, so until next time Keep Gaming.

This week in Gaming #11

      This week did not produce very much in the way of gaming, so this week I am going to have to push it out.  There was one high spot this week.  The Saturday game was great, we did a Castles and Crusades game we played the B1 setting In Search of the Unknow.  It was a great game, I was kind of said because the assassin did not do her job, but I did get one player stuck in a painting with a Giant and a Red Dragon.
      So now lets get to this week.  Monday I will be working on my non gaming book, I need to get through one chapter every time I work on it.  Therefore before I go to bed I will be done with chapter one.  Tuesday I will be working on the game story book, I need to finish writing about Motard the Backbreaker I can do that this week.  Wednesday I don't know if I am going to do any thing this day, I have a meeting so I can get back to getting my masters.  I think this will be the day I work on Rise of the Monarch, I need to get this thing done.  Today I was able to work a little on Neverwinter today, Thursday I will pick back up on that.  I am working on the House of Knowledge.  Friday will be working on The Final Dream.  I am still working on level two of the King's Castle. 
      Saturday is going to be a good day, we are going to start test playing Escape from Cyclops Island.  I will be making Pre Gen for the guys  so we can just get going when it is time.  This week I will also get it to the Editor so she can fix it.  I also need to get some art work done, I am hoping to get it out by the end of May.  While there you have it, so until next time Keep Gaming.

This Week in Gaming and Comic Con Fan X

      It has been a few days, I lost the internet but now we are back.  So lets get in to it.  I did not do a lot last week for gaming because we were getting ready for Comic Con.
      The go was a lot of Fun.  On Thursday I was a female vampire and was able to meet Leeanna Vamp, that was really cool.  Friday I dressed up like David Jones, the guy I play in Solomon Kane.  I got Tracy Hickman to sign one of my DragonLance adventure books.  We did not go on Saturday, I really wanted to go to Tracy Hickman's Killer Breakfast.
      I had a good time at the con, but I think I want to go to Con's that have Gaming so Gen Con, Origins, and the one close to home Tabletop Con in Salt Lake City. 
      I have decided on a line-up for my work week.  Monday I will work on my non-gaming book, Tuesday I will work on the Game Story book, Wednesday I will work on Rise of the Monarch the Card game I am creating.  Thursday I will be working on Neverwinter/Castles and Crusades, and Friday I will work on The Final Dream.  While that is it for now so until next time Keep Gaming.

This week in Gaming #10

      While the week has been good. I think that I have gotten a lot done.that is good because this coming week is going to be crazy because it is Easter and Salt Lake Comic Con Fan X.  So what did I do this Week? While I just finished the second draft of Escape from Cyclops Island, I will be trying to meet with a friend and get the art work done, and then meet with the editor.
      Now that I am at this point of Escape from the island I think I am going to go back to having a different thing every day.  Monday I will work on my now gaming book.  Tuesday I will work on my game story book.  Wednesday: I think I want to start working on my card game again, Rise of the Monarch.  Thursday-Saturday: it's Comic Con baby.

This week in Gaming #9

      It has been a very busy week, this past week.  I have stopped working on both my books kind of, I was working on the gaming book but due to other projects.  I will be putting that one on hold, but I have started working on the other book during the 15 min before I go in to work everyday.
      I am only working on one project at a time right now, I was working on the Final Dream I, but I am now working on Escape from Cyclops Island, the reason for this is that it is going to be able to get it done and test played, and then I am going to put it on Lulu or DrivetruRPG.  I have not yet decided but I have a few months before I have to worry about that.
      I have to edit the next podcast, I will do that after I am done with this post.  We only played Magic this week, and next week we are going to be off because my daughter is turning 18.  So I have a few weeks to work on Neveragain and the Castles and Crusades games. 
      So this week on everyday but Thursday I will be working on Escape from Cyclops Island.  Thursday I will be working on B1 for the Castles and Crusades game that I don't know when we are going to do it this month.  because there is no game this week and next week is Salt Lake Comic Con Fan X.  So until next time Keep Gaming.
