The Sandbox called Uptown

      I have decided that for my game at TableTop Con; Awesomeman and the Green Dragon, when the players get two the village of Uptown every thing will be what ever the players want to do to get to where they need to be.  As long as they are working on reaching the goal of killing the Green Dragon the what ever happens, happens.
      There are two reasons for this and the both come back to having no time.  The first reason is that I have mini's to paint for this game and others, and if I am working on the game then I am not painting.  The second is that I have a lot of other projects, I have to work on the Neverwinter game and The Final Dream, there is also the card game that I have not worked on for a good amount of time and so much more.
      I really think that not only is it going to be fun to do it this way, I think that it is going to work out for me and the players.  But if I do crash and burn I will know that I need to work out the whole game if I do an other TableTop Con, and right now I am looking to many gaming con's.  So until next time Keep Gaming.

NPC's and a Lover for Awesomeman

      I have finished creating the NPC's that the group is going to fight in my TableTop Con game.  I just need to give one of them a weapon, she will be using a war fan, but that weapon is not in the program that I use doesn't have that weapon to choose.
      I have decided that I am going to put my other games on hold until I get done writing this game, that I will go back to working on when I am done with this post.  I also have some mini's to paint that I am going to use at TableTop Con both for my game and the games that I will be playing in.  I have the cleric that I am playing, then I have three giants that I might use if the players go in to the Caves of Wonder.  While until next time Keep Gaming.

A Buzy Week

      While Tabletop Con is coming so I need to get the adventure of Awesomeman and the Green Dragon done. but I still need to do my other projects done so I am about to do a blog for Neveragain.  That is what I will be doing tonight working on the Neverwinter game. 
      Then on Wednesday and Thursday I will be working on Awesomeman and the Green Dragon.  The encounter I have to do first is a group of ninja's, and then the hero's will come to the village of uptown where an army of goblins is about to attack.
      Friday is the day that work on The Final Dream, the AD&D game.  I have to finish the room of Jack and Jill.  There are a few monsters that I need to put in to the floor as while.  There you have it so until next time Keep Gaming.

painting killing people and more

      While when I am done with this, I will do my December article for the website and then I will do some you tube video's and then I will do some painting.
      I got more Bones mini's I have an eye monster, and female vampire that I will be using for Tabletop con next month.  A female paladin and some bigger bones a storm giant and a frost giant.  Those video's can be found on the mrdragonfi channel on youtube.
      Last night we did a podcast but I found out that my editing program is no longer any good.  So last night I played my goblin deck, my mill deck and I cant remember the third deck, but I lost all three games.  They just could not do anything that I needed them to do.   While that is it for now so until next time Keep Gaming.

Turkey day weekend.

      Now lets get to the good stuff.  Friday was the day to work on my 1st edition game,  I got the mini maze room done and then there was a room that was empty, and when I start again on Friday I will finish writing the room of Jack and Jill.  They are both rangers that have done many things for King Stonewall.  I know I have said many times that I don't want a lot of magic items in this game but this is one of the rooms I don't want to change from the first time I wrote this adventure.  All of the items jack had are gone but the items for Jill are still in her chest.

Monsters and Hero's

      I am working on Awesomeman and the Green Dragon right now and thought I would write the new post as I go.  I have finished the River Hydra, I gave it immune to fire and lightning deals double damage.  Part of me wants the group to take the river so they can fight this 12 headed monster.  The other part of me wants them to travel the trade road.
      On the Trade Road they will meet Akiko the female Samuri.  Here is about her.  I used the roll 3d6 in order and this is what I got as a base
STR-4; I know that is very low for a fighter type, but this is just the base and it might be fun.

      Now lets get her to the right level and see what happens.
      So after getting her to level 12 she now has a STR of 7, now we will have to get her some magic items and let her go to town.  It is ok that she is weak, the plan is that she is Awesomemans lover not fighter friend or killer. 
      She fights with War Fans, that on the fight attack you can get a +4 bonus if your bluff is higher then the targets Sense Motive, While the highest I can get with my skill points is 7.5 so lets hope that this works.  I think the art work on the fans are going to be East dragons fighting West Dragons.
      While now it is time to get feats and things so lets look at that, she gets six of them so before I get them I am thinking Leadership, she has Ninja's that work with her.  She is going to need ride for she is a Battle Maiden, and most likely Ride by attack.  I will look at her feats after I buy her gear so I can all right it down on the paper I am using or just wait until I can get a sheet so Until next time Keep Gaming

A Day of Meryment

      While it is a new day and I have signed up and paid to go to TableTop Con in January.  I will be running a game in the first time slot and then will be playing the rest of the time.  I am excited to be going but, there are only pathfinder games and D&D 4e.
      My game is a 3.5 game.  I will be working on it here after I post this.  I will be writing the part for the River Hydra.  it is going to be a lot of fun.
       For the Living Forgotten Realms I will be playing a version of my D&D 1st edition cleric DJ.  I think I am going to have her follow three gods, so her feats are going to be channels of those gods.  I think it will be fun.  While to day it is short so until next time Keep Gaming.

Rooms, Rooms, and More Rooms.

      I will start by saying I have paid for my trip to Tabletop Con in the coming year, so now I can start checking out what games will be going on.  I am hoping to play some 1st edition Dungeons and Dragons, even more I am hoping to us some of my guys to play.  I was hoping to play DJ my cleric, but I have lost her.  I will be playing Zembuto my monk and maybe my Magic-user. 
      I am really happy with the guys that are doing this, they announced that there was only room for a 120 people, I asked if there was room to grow, and they said no.  The reason is that it is there first one, and they don't want it to get out of control and that is a great thing.
      Now lets get to the good stuff.  I have been able to work on the Final Dream I.  I was only able to get two and a half rooms done.  The half a room is one big room with lots of little rooms in it.  This is not something I did the first time I wrote this story.  I don't know why I did this but as I was looking at the room and thinking what should I put in this room?  Then it came to me that I needed to just make little rooms and maybe some of them will have things in them and others will be empty.  I hope that it turns out the way I want it to, as I am trying to cut back on the magic Items I was adding to this game I am thinking that there will either be normal weapons in this rooms which is ok; or money or nothing. 
      While Saturday is a day off, and then it is three days of working on the book so do to work tomorrow, we will get back to the game on Wednesday so until then Keep Gaming.

Work to be done.

      I have been playing alot of Final Fantasy VII, lately and I now have much to do.  so I will so the dishes in the morning and now it is time to tell you about all the work to be done.
      Lets start with the Final Dream I.  I have moved it home so I can work on it some nights after I get home from work.  So tomorrow night I will get on that, I will finish the second floor by the end of the month.  Today while I was sitting at lunch it came back to me that when I first wrote this adventure I had 120 lawful good monsters in the wondering monster section, that would help the hero's if they needed it.  I don't think I will be doing this now.
      I will spend three days every week working on typing the second draft of my book, it is only maybe 25% game related so I won't share a whole lot about it with you, but that is on the to do list.  I have started working on my second book, that is 100% gaming related but we will get to that later.
     So now there is one more thing to get to besides Escape from Cyclops Island which I will start up again soon, but now it is time to talk about TableTop Con 2014.  This is going to be taking place at the Sharaton in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Right now it is my understanding that there is only room for 120 people, I have asked if there is going to be room to grow we will see.  the website is HTTP://tabletopcon.wordpress.com.  I am writing an adventure for this.  it is called Awesomenan and the Green Dragon.

Oh What A Day

      The day was to start by running a game of Murder in Buldar's Gate, but out of the two people that signed up only one of them showed up.  If you live in Utah I will be running this game once a month.  For the month of December I will be running the game on the 14th at the Dragons Keep in Orem.
      So the night time brought good gaming.  it started with a round of EDH Magic the Gathering.  I still only have the Scarecrow deck and that is all right.  I was playing against a mono black and a mono white deck, the black deck went out have because he mad the other player mad.  The otwhite deck gave me a run for my money and would have one if he could have given his flyer +1/+1 one turn sooner.  The white player that it was great that he had 100 life until he was reminded that I had a Door to Nothingness.
      We also played some Neverwinter, I have decided that we are now doing a podcast for that game.  The group got in to one fight with three goblins.  While there are many other things to do like editing two podcast and a second draft of the book so until next time Keep Gaming.

Halloween 2014

      Halloween was good to the kids, and even better for us, I was able to get a podcast done, and get some gaming done.  So here we go
      We only played two games of Magic the Gathering.  We fought the Hydra.  The first game we all used the same life so we won because we had 75 life.  It was fun game but it was a bit over powered.  We fixed it in the second game we used our own life total and that made it better.  Casey used his Sorin deck, John used his Theros deck and I used my Red and White Theros Human deck.  We won this fight as while but John did die, the was one card that did one of two things which were either every players loses five life, ore destroy all tap non head creatures.  We choose that everyone would take five life, because all of casey's cards were tapped an we could win with his creatures.
      While playing the card game, I was working on creating an NPC for the Neverwinter game.  I created the Female clleric.  Sister Mary Jame.  I still used the Rolled 3d6 in order so she looks worse then the Rouge, but that is all part of the plan.  Mary Jane is a Deva so we will see how that goes.
      There is a new Neverwinter game, but that is in Neveragain so until next time Keep Gaming.

Death Knights and Spring time

      While the time is coming to have things ready to play Neverwinter at the end of this week.  I need to create a cleric and fighter and a rouge.  I still need to come up with a starting point for the story, I have been thinking about having them work for Lord Nevermember.  I am not sold on that idea yet, so I am thinking about having someone lead them to the Tower of An-rok to save the fighter.  There are a few other stories that I can use from the job board.
      On the matter of my 1st edition Dungeons and Dragons game.  I was thinking the other day that when I get to the under city, there is going to be the Temple of Death, I am thinking about using some of the magic items to see if we can't turn some one in to a Death Knight.  if I am able to do that, I have an idea for a group of side adventure at lest three adventures.

Solomon Kane and the Hydra

      October 19th was Theros Game Day.  I was going to fight the Hydra, but got the call to play Solomon Kane.  I am glad that I did not go to game day, it was not about fighting the Hydra it was just a standard tournament.
      Solomon is such a great game.  I character was a grave digger that fought with a shovel.  He had a few other weapons.  The adventure started with the group saving a woman that was going to be feed to  a "dragon".  The framers put up a small fight.
      The girl that was being feed to the dragon was one of the farms daughters, we told the farms that we would find the dragon and kill it.  When we got back to the village we meet the lord of the land, he did not look like a good man.  In fact he was indeed a bad man that taxed the people like crazy and was very rude to his subjects.  It was clear to David Jones that this lord might just be the dragon.  
      After the lord left the village, they made food for us, David Jones tried to talk with some of the people put they were to scared of the wolf that was traveling with the group.  Finally the wolf was moved and the people started sharing about the dragon.  Only one person in the whole village saw the dragon.  It was decided that in the morning after the priest had gotten over his drinking problem we would go hunt us a dragon.
      After hunting down some evidence to prove the lord of the land was the dragon, we went back to the village and gathered the towns folk to help us in the fight.  It was a grand fight were some of the villagers died and David Jones also just about meet his maker, but in the end the hero's and the villagers won the fight and there freedom, and that my friends is the story of David Jones and the Adventures of Solomon Kane. 

Waiting Causes Thinking

      Today I am waiting for my wife to come back from her surgery, and have had some time to think about some of the things I am doing.  So I will share some of those things with you all today.
      I started by going to DI's to look for stuff to make any or all my costumes for SaltCon or Comic Con next year.  I was able to find something for my Vampire at Comic Con. and I bought it because six dollars is way better then the hundred and forty dollars.  Plus the Dress that was 140 only has room for body art in the front, the six dollar one has room in the back, so i am thinking of doing something from either my Neverwinter game or the city adventure I am writing for Dungeons and Dragons 4e.
      On the subject of Cos playing, I have decided that not only will I be Solomon Kane at Comic Con, I am going to be him at SaltCon.  The reason is that I love the stories of Solomon Kane, I am really looking forward to playing that game again.  When we start playing again I am going to ask the other players how they meet Solomon Kane, I will start by saying "There is not much good about when a person meets Solomon Kane." 
      there is one more off week due to Anime Bonzi, then the Neverwinter game will be a weekly game,  So I have been thinking about that, I really want to do a four seasons of Neverwinter so I am thinking I am going to start with Spring.  It seems to me that Neverwinter is all ways in a state of Spring so we will start there plus there is an adventure that I want to do in the winter that is six parts and each part is twenty-three dollars so I will need sometime to get those.  So part of Spring will be on the Pirate Island and in the Ring of Dreed, I am really excited about this game.  There is one more thing about this game, I am not only going to blog about the game we are playing, I will blog about the things I am  doing for the game.  I think that will be fun for everyone.

      I forgot to tell you all about some stuff in the last post so I will do it now.  The kids got all the Dragons out yesterday and then they started fighting over who got to blow the fire out of their months.  That did not make the wife happy, not because they were fighting but because they were nerding out about the dragons and the fire.
     While working on the article for the website last night, I was readying some magic items about death and stuff.  I am thinking that one of the under would temples will be a temple of death, the second on is going to be for the cats, and the last one is still going to be the temple of Zues. One of the reason I am redoing the game is that there was way to much magic, but I am thinking that in the Temple of Death will have a lot of magic in it.
      So I was thinking that maybe I should find an other blog spot, so I can put up pictures and still get ad's sold,  Then I could post pic's of the Cos play stuff I do.  I am thinking about going to SaltCON next year, so I will have three more to do.  I am going to be my 1st ed Monk, and Cleric, I don't know yet what I will do for the last day.  Then I have the three for SLCC, I will be the Mad Hatter when the family does the Alice in Wonder Land, I will also be doing Soloman Kane, and one day I will be a Female Vampire.  While there you have it so until next time Keep Gaming.

Stuff

      While there is a few things to write about. so I am just going to get right in to it.  Lets start with Magic the Gathering,  I got the rest of the land I needed for my Red and White Theros Human deck.  I will still get the other White and Blue human but I am not in a hurry to do so.  I am not sure if I am going to the game day on the 19th.  I have an offer to play some Soloman Kane and really looking forward to that,
      On the subject of Soloman Kane, I am going to be playing a Grave digger, it is going to be a lot of fun he is scared of magic casting people, I was able to add more to his story from reading the Right Hand of Doom it is a story in the adventures of Soloman Kane.
      I have started writing an new article for my website but I found I don't have the book I need to write about the magic items I am writing about so I will have to look in the DMG in the morning.  I am writing about the staff of seven parts and the staff of the Magi, there is a kid at work that only started playing Pathfinder and 4e, so he has no idea what these items are.
      I listen to a podcast called Spell Burn it is about the DCC game, it is a good podcast, the other day they were talking about items that change your sex and all three men said that is one rule they never played by because in the old D&D a female could not be as strong as a Male.  I say don't be a pussy if you charterers sex changes play it out.  To me it is all about the fun.  I had one cleric and I think it would have been funny if she got turned in to a man I think that is it so until next time Keep Gaming

Theros

       I was not able to go to the Theros per-release   but I was able to pay a per-release.  I got the White box, I got the White god in this box it was kind of nice.  I also bought in to the release sealed tournament.  I did not get a hole lot in the boosters I got, but I built a deck good enough to tie for fourth place.
      I have started to build a White and Red Human deck, I don't have any more white land so I don't have it ready to test play it is the deck I am going to use in the Free game day tournament.  I am really looking forward to fighting the Hydra.

The Weekend

      I am going to skip what I did on Thursday, for I was only able to work on the Final Dream I for 20 min.  So lets get to Friday.  I finished level one of the King's castle, part of the was putting the Minotaur in his place.  The Minotaur is something new I have added this time around.   In the first version of the game I had an Orge Mage, in the game it was sleeping but the one  time my players decided to wake it up.  That was a really bad idea for they were only level .
      I got level two mapped and have started keying it.  I have finished the first five rooms, and on Monday will get more done.  I have to figure out how I am going to work on the project now, I have a new job that starts at four p.m.
      Before the podcast started, Casey and I test played my new giant deck.  It was The Giants of Provo vs. Fe Fi Fo.   We played two games and we each won one game.  I think the red, green, and white giants is going to be a good deck.  I created a podcast of the game, you can hear it on Itunes it is called the Swamppitsw or follow the link  http://theswamppitw.libsyn.com/they-might-be-giants.
      I hope tonight to get the  podcast up for Gods of War s2, e11.  We played three game that you can hear on the podcast, I won two of them but I could not get my green and white deck going.

      The other day I built a new Magic deck, it has been in the making for a few years, but when I bought the Monsters and Hero's deck I think I have the cards I need for a second Giant deck.  The first Giant deck is White and Red, this new deck is Red, White and Green.
