After risking his life to save the daughter of an archeologist, Marc “dies”, but comes back to life.  He believes the ancient egyptian god Khonshu saved him so Marc would become his “fist of vengeance”.

Spider-Man and his Amazing Marriage

I miss Spider-Man’s marriage.  Yes, that’s right, Spider-Man was married.  To who? And where did she go?  If you saw the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies, you already know the who, Mary Jane Watson.  And the how was a long time coming.  Peter and Mary Jane Watson were introduced by their aunts. Although she is mentioned in previous issues, Mary Jane never actually appears (and meets Peter) until Amazing Spider-Man #42 (November 1966). 

They dated off and on over the years, Peter would date Gwen Stacey until her death by the Green Goblin (Norman Osborn).  Mary Jane would date Norman’s son Harry...

Quasar (Growing up with the protector of the universe)

October 1989. I remember it well.  I was a shy, quiet, small boy of 11.  Although the character of Quasar had been around for awhile already, appearing in the pages of such comics as Captain America, Defenders, Marvel Team-Up and Marvel Two-in-One, Quasar #1 was the first encounter I had with the hero.  It was almost an accident that I discovered this series.  I had seen an ad in a few other marvel books about how Wendell Vaughn by chance had become protector of the universe.  I also went to one of the local newsstands (I had not discovered the direct market shops yet) and since there were no new issues of the few Marvel books I read at the time (Spider-man, Hulk, Fantastic Four), I paid the $1 for the first issue of Quasar...
